Rep. Dan Bishop, a Democrat, represents part of Clay
County (District 38) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to the House in November
2002.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Bishop is
an attorney. He also served as the past
mayor and a councilman for the city of Gladstone, Mo., and was a legislative
intern for state Representative Joe Bock.
Rep. Bishop is a member of the following
organizations: Gladstone Rotary Club,
past president; Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce; Gladstone Area Chamber
of Commerce; Democratic Central Committee; Assistance League of Kansas City,
advisory board member; Native Sons of Kansas City; Northland Democrat Club;
Regional Transit Alliance, board member; Clay County Bar Association; and the
Tenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Kansas City.
A 1987 graduate of Oak Park High School, Rep. Bishop
received his bachelor of arts in political science, magna cum laude from
Westminster College in 1991 and his juris doctor from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. He is
currently a master’s candidate in political science at the University of
Missouri-Kansas City.
Born January 31, 1969, in East Branch, N.Y., Rep.
Bishop lives in Kansas City with his wife, Leslie A. Bishop, and their
children: Ben and Luke.
