Rep. Charles
Schlottach, a Republican, represents parts of Gasconade, Crawford and Franklin
counties (District 111) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
In addition to his
legislative duties, Rep. Schlottach and his family own and operate a
200-cow/calf operation on their fifth generation family farm in Gasconade
County. He is a lifelong member of the
St. James United Church of Christ where, in the past, he served as president of
the church council and as Sunday School superintendent.
Rep. Schlottach just
recently completed two terms as presiding commissioner of Gasconade
County. He has been two-term chairman
of the Meramec Regional Planning Commission and co-founder and chairman of the
Grow on 50 Coalition, a grass roots organization supported by all counties and
cities along the Highway 50 corridor to promote transportation improvements
throughout the state of Missouri.
Currently, Rep. Schlottach
serves as an executive board member, and as a member of the Legislative
Committee, for the County Commission Association of the state of Missouri. In
addition, he is a member of the University of Missouri Wardac Farm
Administration board, the Owensville Gun Club, the American Wild Turkey Federation,
and the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Rep. Schlottach has served
three times as President of the Gasconade County Extension Council, and was
formerly president of the Rosebud Jaycees.
He also has served on the Soil Conservation Committee, the MFA Oil
board, and the Gasconade County Fair board.
He is a life member of the Gasconade County Bible Society.
Rep. Schlottach was born
October 12, 1955[MSOffice1], in Washington, Mo., and graduated from Owensville
High School in 1974. He attended East
Central College in Union, Mo. He and
his wife, Karen, have three children:
Gus, Woody, and Grace.
