REP. JAY WASSON

92nd General Assembly

 

Rep. Jay Wasson, a Republican, represents part of Christian, Lawrence and Stone counties (District 141) in the Missouri House of Representatives.  He was elected to the House in November 2002.

 

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Wasson is in real estate development.  He also served as mayor of Nixa from 1997 to 2002.  His mother, Edna Wasson, was the first female mayor Nixa.

 

Rep. Wasson has been honored with the Nixa Community Foundation Citizen of the Year  in 2000 and the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association Public Officials Achievement Award in 2002.

 

A charter member of the Nixa Chamber of Commerce, Rep. Wasson is a board member of the Community Foundation and a board member of the Ozark Branch Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

 

A 1974 graduate of Nixa High School, Rep. Wasson attended Drury University.

 

Born October 24, 1956 in Springfield, Mo., Rep. Wasson lives in Nixa.
