HB 2116 -- Student Records

Co-Sponsors: Riback Wilson (25), McLuckie, Schilling,
Fitzwater, Shelton

This bill prohibits institutions of higher education from
disclosing to a parent or guardian any information about a
student's violation of any law, rule, or policy governing the
use or possession of alcohol or a controlled substance. This
requirement applies regardless of whether the information is
part of the student's educational record and applies only if the
student is at least age 18. Any student may waive this
requirement by signing a consent form with the institution at
the beginning of each academic year authorizing such disclosures.
