HJR 74 -- State Equal Rights Amendment

This resolution submits to the voters of Missouri an amendment
to the state's constitution.  The amendment prohibits equality
of rights from being denied or abridged on account of sex.  The
General Assembly is authorized to enforce by legislation the
provisions of the constitutional amendment.  The amendment also
specifies that its provisions may not be construed to require
the state of Missouri to fund abortions or recognize same sex
marriages.
